BIS HOUSTON PTO EVENTS

The BIS Houston Parent Teacher Organization has been asked by the school to run at least three events:  Winter Fayre, International Day, and Spring Fayre.

All of these events are meant to build community and are supported via time and money donated by Parents and the school. We take seriously our responsibility to be careful and good stewards of the PTO’s resources and money as these ultimately belong to the Parents.

We celebrate Winter Fayre at the end of our first term. The Fayre kicks off with decorating gingerbread houses and ends with a day full of crafts, rides, games, lots of food, Santa’s Grotto, letters to Santa, face painting, and more.

International Day celebrates the incredible cultural diversity of our school. Parents set up booths for their countries, dress in traditional clothes, provide samples of their country’s food, and share their music. Other parents and children perform songs and dances from their country. The day ends in a whole-school assembly with a flag parade.

Spring Fayre takes place in March and includes inflatables, good food, music, games, and other activities. A fun afternoon for all our families!

An event that takes place at the beginning of the school year for parents, giving them a chance to have a casual social and create a wonderful parent community! In the past themes have included Quiz Night and Bingo Night!

We have a monthly coffee onsite!

Come and join us for a casual chat and get to know other BIS Houston Families!

Every BIS Houston parent and staff member are members of the BIS Houston PTO! We have 4 membership meetings each year. Come and join us to find out more about the PTO and upcoming events!

In May we celebrate all BIS Houston Staff during Staff Appreciation Week! Mixture of breakfasts, lunches, coffees and prizes!

None of our events happen without our amazing volunteers! We celebrate them in May!

The BIS Houston PTO supports a variety of Year Group activities, through parent contributions and PTO funds. Each year group has “Neighborhood Parents” that help the teachers with treats, parties and more! Some organize offsite family days and parent coffees.

Bigger events are traditionally held in some years:

EY2: Transition to primary graduation

Y6: Graduation from Primary

Y9: End of Middle School Party

Y11: Prom

Y13: Graduation

We try and hold a few Spirit Nights a year at local restaurants and cafes!

If you know of place that would like to do a Spirit Night/ Day with us, please contact us!
