Clothes Recycling – Green bins in our parking lot!

A great way to reduce waste and raise a little bit of money for the BIS Houston PTO! – Great for those socks with holes and other worn out clothes!

BUT please donate all Dennis uniform/ Spirit wear to the Used Uniform Store. You can hand donations into reception. We will resell, recycle or recreate into new products!

Green Recycling Bin items accepted: clothing, shoes, household items, linens, belts, purses, hats, and toys. (Must fit into the bin!)

All the items from the recycling pod go to the pre-sort center. Here, the items are sorted out and segregated into different categories like textiles, books, toys, household items, shoes, etc. The textiles are sorted into:

• Re-useable clothes – which are sold to markets that are in need of good quality of used clothing.
• Clothes with holes, rips, etc  – which cut into rags and sold to industries that use recycled clothing as raw materials in the production of new products.

There are also numerous charities in the local community looking for used quality clothing such as Clothed By Faith, which we also encourage to donate to as we know donations will end up with families in need.
