International Day Flag Carrier Signups

BIS Houston holds a flag parade at the end of International Day to celebrate all of the wonderful cultures at our school.

EY students will carry United Nations flags while one Primary student and one Secondary student will jointly carry a flag for one of the nearly 100 nations at our school.

Would your child like to carry a flag? Then please fill out one form (scroll down below) for each of your children.

We will seek to match children to their home countries. However, some countries have many families at the school, and there may be multiple children signed up to carry the same flag. In that case, we will randomly select one Primary and one Secondary child to carry each flag.

Please note:

• If your child is not selected to carry his/her home country’s flag, you can choose whether or not to have him/her carry another country’s flag. We will need a lot of flag bearers!
• Children must be available for rehearsal the day before the parade (exact times to be provided).
• Children sometimes swap flags on the day of the parade to walk with their friends despite the staff’s best efforts to keep the children with their intended flag.
